Bali Bali Bali,

Before coming here for the first time in 2011, the idea I had of Bali was that was a beautiful island full of paradisiac beaches.

How wrong was I….

Bali is a beautiful island, in fact, it is a stunning island, however, beaches are not necessarily the best of Bali. I am not even a fan at all, as the lack of white sand, palm trees and crystalline turquoise waters ruin it for me. They are good if you like surfing tho.

So why is Bali so beautiful?

Well, I would say it is the culture and the nature.

There are so many wonderful temples in this Island. Yesterday I told you about Tanah Lot, which is one of the most beautiful – and the perfect spot for sunset.

Today, we have visited a few more but we were lucky to visit the most iconic of them all: Ulun Danu Temple.

This picturesque landmark is often considered the postcard of Bali (think Big Ben for London). It sits on Beratan Lake, and during high tide, the smooth reflective surface of Beratan surrounds most of the temple’s base, creating a unique floating illusion, while the mountain range provides the temple with its hazy and dreamy backdrop. Sadly, as its dry season, the water doesn’t really cover the temple as it does in the wet season, which made this second experience of visiting the temple not as mesmerizing! Still wonderful and the most recognizable sanctuary.

But more than the beautiful temples and architecture, I would say that the Nature is absolutely breath taking.

Instead of trying to describe you, let me show you why Bali is just so dazzling and charming.

If you haven’t visited, you should definitely add it to your list =)

Much love from the mountains,

P.S. You have NO IDEA how much I had to suffer to upload this post and video today ahahah- I call it dedication and resilience as I spent the last 4h going around every single hotel trying their internet. And the downside of being in the middle of secluded mountains – however, I have the most beautiful sky full of stars that I will now enjoy. xxx
