My favourite Travel Blogs
Now that I officially started planning my trip, and decided to join the travel blog world, I couldn’t quite believe the amount of travel blogs I have found and the great tips, advice and stories their share with us all. It is so amazing and I often find myself at 2:00 am getting lost in these travellers’ worlds! It truly inspires me plus is so comforting to know that I am not alone and there’s plenty of adventure seekers pursuing a less ordinary life. Here are some of my favourite bloggers/blogs, some of them old friends of mine, some complete strangers that I would love to meet someday around this tiny little planet we call Earth 🙂

Plan your trip
Preparing for a trip will never be easy, but we are so lucky to be part of a generation and a time where with only a telephone/tablet/computer and internet connection, we are just one click away from a massive list of tools to help us plan and prepare for our dream! Please find a selection of links that contain information on the countries, visas, flight planning, tour ideas, insurance, work abroad, finding travel buddies, creating your blog etc. I use them pretty much all the time as it saves me a lot of time and money 😉

A place to snooze and recharge batteries
For a long term traveler, home is where your heart is (and your 20 kilos of stuff). But I find it important to have a place to call home even for a day,  where I can not only charge my camera, my laptop, my phone, etc but mainly to recharge my own batteries. Here’s a selection of links I use to help me find a place to sleep, shower and increase my knowledge about the culture I am in. Been an avid HC and CF user for over 10 years now, I have been a host and been hosted for literally thousands of times, it is still my favourite way of travelling! Also, I do love to find places on the go, very often I arrive to a town and go to knock on hotels/hostels doors and ask to see the rooms and negotiate prices, it works really well for me.

Well, what can I say. This is probably what inspires us the most…. I can drink books, love to consume its pages as they make me travel and dream even higher. - Into the Wild
- The Beach
- Eat, Pray, Love
- The secret life of Walter Mitty
- Under the Tuscan Sun
- Before Sunrise
- Before Sunset
- Before Midnight
- The Motorcycle Diaries
- Long Way Round
- City of God
- Slumdog Millionaire
- A Map for Saturday
- Earthlings
- The 4-hour work week
Mobile Apps
And as important as bibliography or sites, as we are in 2013, Mobile Apps are a must and a great tool to help us not only in preparation but also while on the road (how many times have maps have saved our life?)! So here´s a selection of some of my fave apps for traveling.
- Packing
- Currency
- GPS Log
- GeckoGo
- Trip Ideas
- Triplt
- Jauntlet
- GoBackpack
- TripRider
- TripSaver
- plus most of the “plan your trip” links also have apps worth checking out, such as TripAdvisor!!!
Hello Emma! Great Article! You visit Philippines too.
And speaking of Philippines, you try Bohol or Cebu.
It’s so nice there. If you need help.
Just check out our website at https://www.cebutours.ph/. Thank you!
Welcome to the world of Budget trekking! We, here at our office, believe that no one should put aside their dream of trekking on the high himalayans of Nepal because of involving cost which is way over the head. We guarantee that our treks are the cheapest in the Nepalese market when it comes to price. As a part of making our treks cheap we never curtail any part of the trek, we do not alter in the service we provide but we maintain the costs to the rock bottom by trekking in group.
I loved the links, some blogs I already know and I follow them. Congratulations on the post. thank you.
