Travel Postcards of 2022

It’s been a long time, a very long time, I know.

But Covid hasn’t really helped and then another 9264748 things happened…

So my blog has been here, quiet and sort of forgotten.

But today, as I usually do on the last day of the year, I was going through all the challenges, and achievements, thinking about everything I overcame and also learned this year.

This was definitely one of the most difficult years of my life, on a personal level, since I lost one of my dearest friends, a travel partner, and pretty much a brother to me, Danny Wolsey, you will never be forgotten. So no matter what, I cannot think of 2022 as a good year.

However, there were some positives, and the most positive of all was being able to travel again.

After a few years where I hardly traveled due to my pregnancy, having a newborn and then straight to covid19, I genuinely felt like this unwanted break of traveling made me feel like a fish out of water.

So being able to go to airports and train stations to start adventures have definitely been the highlight of 2022. Especially as I no longer travel solo. I now travel with my partner in crime, my sunshine, my everything, my “baby” son Romeo. And guess what? He LOVES it. Definitely, it’s in the genes as he gets so excited every time he sees me packing.

This year we had a few adventures.. A lot of little trips around UK, England and Scotland. Been to Portugal a few times too. But Romeo managed to go to 3 new countries. Finally went to Spain where he had a fun little week trip, and even went to Asia (UAE) and Africa (Egypt) for the first time.

He particularly loved these 2 trips. I guess he already gets the cultural differences and how different everything is from good ol Europe.

He often asks about Abu Dhabi (which seems like is his favorite place so far, mostly due to all the palaces we visited that he is convinced belong to Price Ali, AKA, Aladdin.

I could write so much more about all the fun adventures we lived this year, but instead, I will just share some travel postcards of little Romeo seeing the world.

I am excited about 2023 and the new trips we will be making. A few on the cards already.

And can’t wait to keep sharing the footprints in the clouds with my son and show him our beautiful planet, its people and its magical wonders.

Happy 2023 you dear all and I miss you Danny.
